CIVIBA gathers and compares civic places in Japan, Spain, France, Italy, Thailand and Laos, and the practices that make them possible: third places, urban commons, gardens, citizen labs, art and territory, reuse of empty spaces. A txoko and a kodomo shokudo belong to the same conversation, and this atlas exists so they can be read together. It includes a calendar of gatherings, and every entry cites its sources and states whether it has been verified. The name joins civicus, what belongs to the citizens, and ba (場), the place where it happens.
